Bitumen sealing

Council approved · Driveways

Council-approved bitumen seal driveways that improve all-weather access and reduce ongoing gravel maintenance — a standout need across the Northern Rivers and New England.

Typical scope

  • Assessment of existing surface, base, and drainage
  • Preparation, grading, and compaction as required
  • Council-approved bitumen seal application to agreed finish (2-coat / 3-coat as specified)
  • Aggregate size and coats confirmed on quote
  • Driveway entries, runs, and practical rural layouts

Final method and materials depend on site conditions, drainage, and your budget. We’ll explain options clearly in the quote. Some driveway entries off public roads may need separate council or road-authority approval. Clients are responsible for confirming those requirements. We’re happy to point you in the right direction and work within the scope of those approvals.

Driveway approvals at a glance

Connecting to a public road? New or upgraded driveway entrances off council roads usually need council approval (and Transport for NSW approval on state roads), which often covers width, culvert size and sight distance. Driveways inside your property generally don’t, unless they’re part of a DA or in a bushfire-prone area. Requirements vary by council, so check with your local council before work starts.

How we quote: We’ll measure the area, check access, drainage and council requirements, agree the seal specification (including coats), then send a clear written quote.
